Supporting Children Through NAO Humanoid Technology

At Your Angel, we recognise that the needs of local schools have evolved, and as such, we are excited to introduce a new wellbeing program aimed at fostering social connections and emotional resilience among students. Central to this initiative is the integration of the NAO humanoid robot, which will be utilised to enhance social skills and assist students in building meaningful friendships.

Our Journey So Far

Since launching our technology program in 2017, we’ve seen firsthand the positive impact that the NAO humanoid robot can have in supporting children who experience social, emotional, developmental, or behavioural challenges. Over the years, we’ve worked closely with educators, specialists, and families to continuously refine and adapt our approach.

Throughout this journey, NAO has proven to be an engaging and accessible tool – one that encourages engagement, builds confidence, and creates a safe space for children to explore social and emotional learning. From early interventions in classrooms to targeted sessions with individual students, the program has consistently evolved to meet real-world needs.

As we listened to feedback from schools and observed outcomes, it became clear that NAO’s greatest strengths lie in promoting wellbeing and helping students develop the social skills needed to thrive – both inside and outside the classroom.

A New Wellbeing Focus

In response to this, we are proud to now place NAO at the heart of our newly focused Wellbeing Program, which aims to:

• Enhance Social Skills: Through structured, interactive group sessions, NAO will help children build confidence in social settings and develop meaningful friendships.
• Support Emotional Development: NAO’s non-judgmental presence creates a safe environment for students to express themselves and practice emotional regulation.
• Offer Targeted Interventions: NAO will be used individually with children who stand to benefit most, ensuring a person-centred and effective approach.

Looking Ahead

This transition represents not a shift away from our original mission, but a deepening of it. By aligning the program more closely with the needs of students today, we’re building on a solid foundation – and expanding the ways in which we can make a difference.
