The Community Cooking School exists to connect people in the Wingecarabee shire – and food is a great way to bring people together. We want everyone to feel welcome, part of a community, and have fun! Our programs aim to empower our participants to create food from scratch that is delicious, nutritious and above all else affordable.

The Community Cooking School is about breaking down social barriers, building community and keeping the art of home-cooking (from scratch) alive.

Our current programs:

Cook & Connect

We are pleased to be partnering with Southern Highlands Christian Community Centre (SHCCC) and Coles – Second Bite to provide food to those who most need it in our community.

With the help of our incredible volunteers, we get together regularly to create single portioned meals that are hearty & nutritious. These meals are then distributed through SHCCC (also known and loved in our community as ‘The Hub’) to other local support services and individuals in need.

Kids School Holiday Program

Together with our Community Kids Workshops we deliver kids cooking classes during the school holidays. These classes are a great way for kids to connect, build life skills and have fun during the holidays.

Community Cooking Classes

We run cooking classes for specific groups based on community needs.
